6-29-20 THOUGHTS

I borrow a C.S. Lewis quote from yesterday’s lesson on FRIENDS...
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another,
“What! You, too? I thought I was the only one.’"
1Cor 10:13   No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
These are words of common processes applied to men and women who have likenesses!
As an example,   ‘There is an evil which I have seen under the sun and it is prevalent among men —   2  a man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor so that his soul lacks nothing of all that he desires; yet God has not empowered him to eat from them, for a foreigner enjoys them. This is vanity and a severe affliction.”  Eccl 6:1-2
Eccl 1:4-10   A generation goes and a generation comes, But the earth remains forever. 5  Also, the sun rises and the sun sets; And hastening to its place it rises there again. 6  Blowing toward the south, Then turning toward the north, The wind continues swirling along; And on its circular courses the wind returns. 7  All the rivers flow into the sea, Yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, There they flow again. 8  All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing. 9  That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun. 10  Is there anything of which one might say, "See this, it is new"? Already it has existed for ages Which were before us.
When I read Ecclesiastes, I come away feeling like I’m just like all who have ever lived.  We are created by the same God, placed in God’s system of order.  The words of a Collin Raye song come to mind:
       I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
       I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you
Titus 1:4   To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
It thrills my  “I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE” soul to know the following...
Heb 2:11   For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father;  for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Heb 2:14  Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
Heb 2:17-18    Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18  For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
My Prayer:
Thank you our great God for making us as we are.  Teach us and help us to work together with YOU for our own benefit.  Give us heaven we pray.

                                     In Jesus name          Amen
